That's interesting. I wonder what makes them not road legal?
I have no doubt that they'd meet all the relevant standards, but to be legally used in the EU they have to have an E mark on the tyres to show compliance, and as I understand it they don't.

I asked Bridgestone UK, but they didn't have a clue (about anything it seems).

RE050's are great on track, but fade after 10-15 minutes on track at my sort of pace. However they don't fade too badly. Overall I really rate the 050's.
When they do fade they feel a bit like the surface has melted slightly, but if you keep pushing on you find that they continue to give good grip.

Last well too. I got 4 trackdays and 14k miles out of a set of rears.

I think Grittyshaker is running RE01R tyres and he still had the "Hamlet" moment about 6 mins into the IoM run.

I still marvel at that, given that mine have done 6-7k, one p!ssing wet academy day and they're down to 3-4mm!

Can't answer that one. I don't claim to be easy on tyres either.

I will say that when they get down to the last 3-4mm they seem to last for quite a while.

Hmm.

I get through them as Wellington Wimpy does hamburgers, irrespective of type.
