going flat out uphill

or downhill

on a quiet nsl road of course

Well, there's less grip on downhill bends. So it's downhill.

Definitely. I've been bricking it at not much more than 60mph as a passenger in friends cars, all on downhill sections. There's a road that begins about 100yds from my house that you can't really gain much more than 60mph or so on before the downhil section, and I absolutely hate being a passenger on it.

And that's with one guy I know to be an excellent driver. Just seems more dangerous somehow.
