Default Wheel arch liners

I removed the wheel arch liners today to find bits of rust here and there (Not too bad, but it sure does collect dirt/crap underneath them). Looked fine from the outside.

Just a warning to other owners. I will be going to the bodyshop next week for a few jobs so they can sort this out too

BTW these are not the same as the whole liner, they are just strips.

I was wondering about them as they're on ITR and ATR too.

Is it best to remove, sort out rust, waxoyl and refit. Or is it best to leave them off altogether?

Hi Neil

I removed them and plan to keep them off, they have a bit of rust underneath spread all the way around the arch. I can remove most of the rust with my fingers.

So ill get the guy at the bodyshop to remove the rust (doesnt look like a lot) clean up/treat then spray again.

IMO i think its best to remove them, the idea behind them is to keep out dirt/moisture grime but i found all of that underneath them!. They were not lose or anything to begin with.

You could peel them back Neil or remove them all together to check then put back on?

I've removed them and will keep them off. Thankfullly no rust showing so hopefully will keep that way.

I am keeping the liners as a spare part and evidence when I come to sell that it was nothing sinister that happened (ie: crashed rear and poor detail fix).
