Default Wheel Offset question

Help me understand the effect of the difference in these offsets:

Both sets of wheels are Volks CE28N
1 - Front: 17x7.5 +50 Rear: 17x9 +63
2 - Front: 17x7.5 +43 Rear: 17x8.5 +40

I have worked out using this:https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator
that they'd likely be 5mm wider on front and 10mm wider on rear.

Is this an issue?
Would it affect handling significantly?

(The price of #2 is significantly lower than #1)

Thanks

IMO no, but it does affect kingpin? angle that im sure somebody else would be better able to explain. I have a set very close to that and they're close to perfect.

17x8.5 +40 may rub on the rear. I believe you have seen my car and mine are 17x9 +42 and required a roll.

Just a thought if you want to keep away from modifying the arch.

Those wheel offset calculators appear designed for the hellaflush boys and make zero reference to steering offset.

Since Honda aims for close to zero offset for stability, lack of jacking effect and ultimately, bearing life, they are therefore of zero value.

High-offset wheels necessarily must be materially strong due to the offset loadings, which invariably makes them either heavy or expensive - if they are forged. Which is why cheapo rimz only come with a relatively low offset.

+40's isn't a high offset imo, i know people with Rota's who've done big mileage with no accelerated negative issues. From my own point of view on a mix of alloys, forged & part forged i've not had any extra wear imo (in my 40/50k km).

Option one shouldn't require rolling fenders.
Option two will.
