Default Whistling noise, 2 or 3 times 3k thru 4.5k revs

Hi, I have this high pitched whistle coming (from engine bay I think) , starting around 3500 revs, it whistles (same tone) , goes way, comes back again, away for a second, and then back a bit before disappearing after 4500 revs. I have a K and N FIPK, but it seems to have got more noticeable recently and I don't remember it being there wwhen I first fitted the kit. Hear it more in 3rd to 6th.

The other thing to mention is that on startup, 2 or 3 times over the last 5 months, noticed a ticking noise that sounded like tappets, but then goes away after 5 secs, making me think it was timing belt tensioner. COuld both be related and, as I intend to keep this gorgeous classic car!! Should I be donf somthing about it....last time I mentioned TBC to Newbury Honda, Master Tech, said.."We've never had to do anything with Timing Belt Pretensioners"

Anyone else have these symptoms together, search results seem rather fragmented...thanks again, CB

It's just air going into the CAI. Not a problem.

So yes it is your K&N betton

Ah, well maybe it is the FIPK, how many miles have you got on the clock bettons? I'm on 71k Does your whistle arrive, go away momentarily then come back again? Seems to have got louder recently??

Ticking is prob just the injectors.

No timing belt either - its a chain.
