windscreen surrounds

I have noticed some variation in windscreen surround colours, some match the car colour and some are black, I assume the GT's are coded and non Gt's black. is this correct?

Early cars has black surrounds, later ones did not.

It's only black tape and can be removed.

Black cars do not have tape on the windscreen

It was a distinction between GT and roadster on 99-01 cars.

Also USDM and JDM cars still have the tape on as far as I know.

You can also buy the tape from UK Honda dealers and retro fit it if you prefer the authentic look

I didn't think the GT was available until 2002?

It certainly wasn't around in 99 as, IIRC, Honda didn't release the hardtop until after the car was avilable.
