Mine can be controlled from the stereo, but it will not charge, this is covered in the instructions though, that if the IPOD is plugged into a USB or device that doesn't have a high voltage output, then it will not charge from the device.

Interesting. I can hear music through the car stereo, but mine won't charge and I can't control it either. I could probably live without the charging, but I really wanted the option of the remote control.

Since I've had such a good response from Xcar Uk, I'll exchange it for the new and improved unit, which hopefully should solve the problems. When it turns up I'll post another update.
