Default AutoX

I just wanted to right quick get some info on where I can go race while I'm bone stock. I dont really care about 1/4 mile, I want to know about autoX races coming up this summer along with any driving school stuff that doesnt have to do with getting a misdemeanor speeding ticket. I'm a virgin racer, tell me what you think.

also, when I just happen to have a turbo on my car, will I be able to race it?

two local auto x sources:

http://www.tsscc.org/

and

http://www.scca-chicago.com/solo/index.html

you'll find that these two orgs are mainly the same folks. i did a tsscc day earlier in the season and had a good time, definitely got a better feel for my car.

cheap way to vent some testosterone.

autocross is good ol' fashioned run what you brung racing. every car has a class. if yours is turbo'd eventually, you'll just be in a non-stock class.

this guy has a good listing of local racing events:

Is that Brookfield Wisconsin or Brookfield Illinois? If it is Wisconsin, I think SCCA Cen-div? runs their autox at Miller park at least once a month?

For track...

no problem. the list i posted is made by a local (chicago area) guy, so i dont know if anything like that exists for Iowa.

to the best of my knowledge, i dont think you would ever need an aftermarket roll bar in your s2000 if you installed a turbocharger.

allot of the items on the list are event numbers, can I just roll up sign in and race?

as long as the events are not full, most local clubs will let you show up and race the morning of the event.

sometimes even if they are full they'll stretch a bit.

bring a helmet if you have one, they have loaners but i wouldnt reccomend them.
