I went through the emission lane a month ago with my TP in place. They plug into your OBD port and if you don't have any trouble codes, they will pass the car.

I also passed emissions with my Megan test pipe. I was surprised how easy it was

I passed after drilling the inside of my cat out.

I wouldnt recommend doing this. buy a test pipe.

yes you will pass.
on OBDII vehicles, all they do is plug into your DLC and check for any active fault codes related to emissions. if for any reason your car is producing more bad emmissions then when it left the factory, the vehicle's sensors (o2 sensor for example) will trigger a fault code.
with a test pipe you ARE producing more bad emissions then allowed by the state but you have the test pipe cel fix to prevent the o2 sensor from picking that up.
your engine already knows (based on the car's many emissions sensors) if you you are within the legal limits of emissions or not. this is why the "air team" only plugs into your computer. they rely on your computer to tell them if you pass or not. thats why they dont give 1996 and newer vehicles the IM240 test.
if you dont have a check engine light on, you are good-to-go.
