Default Local Hard top install

So just picked up a ht, install kit hopefully will be here next week.

Can anyone offer to help me install the thing, preferably someone who has already done it, who knows how to do it in a Jiff. Just want to make sure that I do it right and get it properly aligned etc.. Also for those of you with HT's was the install easy? Since I have a defroster does it make it any easier? and does anyone have any clue why the kit is now $500??

When I sold my hardtop, I sold it with the kit (going from my '02 to another '03). Uninstall/install was pretty straightforward. Didn't really have to align anything...just unscrewed the couple of bracket things from my car and screwed them into place for car #2.

Not really sure if I have time to help (holidays and whatnot), but I could find you the necessary pages from the helms manual.

very easy, you shouldn't have a problem

also, don't buy the entire kit. you only really need the 2 rear strikers

I got your PM. I can help. It should take no more than 15-25 minutes including installing any wiring "kit" for the defroster for the hardtop (I've installed all years).

Alignment may take about 20 mintues if it needs any major alignment.

for certain years, you will also need the strikers for the latches otherwise - the hardtop strikers are upgraded.
