Default Minnesota Badges

I thought it might be nice to have a badge - the little thing at the bottom of your posts (like the one I sport for the cancer research) - specifically for us Minnesota folks. I have *some* graphic arts ability, so I'd be willing to try to create something. I wasn't sure how the new avatar/sig policy was going to affect badges, but it looks like nonmembers still can carry a badge.

The question now is, what should it look like? They are quite small, so we can't do a lot of detail. Like, we may not want to spell out MINNESOTA, unless we want nothing else!

Some states have badges which specifically mention OWNERS. Do we want that? Seems like we have several community members (*active* community members) who aren't owners, so I'm leaning away from that. Some say S2000, some S2K (shorter may be better). What word/words do we want? MN S2K?

Then there's the background image. These range from realistic images, some with landmarks, to S2000 graphic-arts sorts of images. What theme should we use? Winter? Lakes? Wintery lakes? Woods? Something like what's on the license plates? Just S2000(s)? A thermometer showing -40? (Why am I obsessed with cold?)

This all presumes that someone besides me thinks this is a good idea. Comments?

Tony

Tony,

Sounds like a good idea to me. How about a loon driving an s2k? or in keeping with the cold theme a penquin or a snowman driving.

Instead of "owners" how about "enthusiasts", oh yes, that's right that would use up as much real estate as Minnesota.

The penguin driving is a clever idea. May have to try that.

This one occurred to me last night when I went to bed. In case it isn't too obvious, it's supposed to be an ice fishing hut.

OK - two more. (And, yes, I borrowed Tux.)

OK - I've made the penguin badge a bit more readable.

I like both, but especially the 10,000 lake / 9,000 RPM one.
