Default Softtop switch

I thought the softtop switch would disengage when you install the hardtop and the defroster?

Am I correct? I wanted to make sure so I tried to raise the top and it started to move

Dude, you keep answering your own questions.

Time to tighten the loose nut behind the wheel.

Anyone with a hardtop, can you please answer my question without a smart ass comment

Does the switch disengage or not when the top is on? I want to make sure it's doing what its suppose to and I didn't screw something up.

Thanks Hardtop guy, that's what I thought. I recall it working fine last winter.

Amul...did you make sure to connect the "defroster" clip form the hardtop onto the wire harness coming from the car on the driver's side?

I'm not sure how the wiring is done, but maybe if you didn't connect the defroster wire harness, then the "push-pin" switch that breaks the circuit on the top-down switch may not be activated.

The push-pin switch is the black "button" on the mounting bracket on the driver's side.

When the hardtop is on the car, the soft top switch is disabled. If you can move the soft top with the hardtop on, you have a problem.
they dont call him the "hardtopguy" for nothing!
