Default Auto-x this weekend

Two days of racing this weekend!

9-Aug at Copper Hills Highschool
10-Aug at the E-Center

More details are availabe at http://www.utahscca.com

If you don't want to race your car, come out and go for a ride along. This will be the first auto-x with our new mods:
- 4.77 final gear
- Koni racing coilovers with the car lowered 1-inch ... car is being corner balanced right now ;-)
- JIC titanium exhaust (13lbs light vs. the 53 lbs heavy stock)

Hope to see some more S2K's out!

I may come out to see you on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I wish I had enough time to spend the whole day there racing. How do you like the 4.77 gears and exhaust for your normal street driving?

I debated quite a while on the whether to get the 4.77 gear and the exhaust. I'm glad I got both. The gear is the best upgrade I've done so far. Brings the car to life. Top speed was reduced by just a couple mph. Higher RPMs on the freeway, but I hardly ever used 6th gear before so no loss for me. With the new price $590) on the final gear set from Rick's ... this is IMHO a no brainer upgrade.

I was most unsure about the exhaust. I wanted to upgrade to a single titanium for weight and for looks, but was concerned about it being too loud. I went with the JIC 505s Ti exhaust ... a lot less expensive (immediately available) and close to the same weight as the Amuse ... plus unlike the Amuse the JIC comes with a silencer. Exhaust weights just a bit over 12 lbs and sounds great. I've yet to ever insert the silencer. I had modern garage to a pre-install dyno ... I'll let you know what the post install dyno results are once I get them (may be as soon as tomorrow). Exhaust adds a nice low note and more volume at at lower RPMs. Once I hit VTEC the exhaust is quieter than the AEM CAI.

Come by on Sat or Sun and go for a ride!

Wow - sounds like "M&J Racing" is becoming a reality. Well, at least to the amateur's still running BONE stock class! I'm on 12hr mids, but we hope to get out one of the two days to watch you and Jake tear up the track. Glad to hear the mods are complete and getting you back out to the track. Count us in for a ride-along if we make it out in time.

We're AMATUERS with upgrades ... we both still need to learn how to drive!

The car is a LOT more fun to drive now though! Hope to see you ... no chance you'll be able to drive on either day!?

MSM-

Hmmm - never really thought about racing instead of watching. There is a CHANCE we could make the whole day on Sunday @ the E-Center - but it would be a rush to get there, since I get off my last 12hr mid-shift at 7am.

I'll talk to Lib and the kids and see if they'd be up for it. With enough coffee and the adrenaline rush from hitting a potentially fast course :fingers crossed:, I might survive the whole day without sleep At the very least, I'm 99% sure we will at least make it by early afternoon. We'll let you know...

Hope we can get some of our OTHER locals out to see you this weekend at either event.

MSM-

UPDATE: Looks like I was outvoted - so we will be there early afternoon to watch, but not race... look for the SYP Jeep!

Just checked out the URSCCA boards - sounds like Copper Hills was fun. Sux (for me) having to work 12hr shifts!

We're gonna be at Wendover on the 24th for sure, ready to race! See you tomorrow afternoon.

Good to see you and the girls this afternoon. You missed two excellent events this weekend ... bummer about the 12 hr shifts. Is there a day you're both off next weekend?

Foo Cat, it was good to see you ... too bad you couldn't make it before the racing was over.
