Default ebrake adjustment

i tried searching but couldnt really find too much.

but im sure this topic has been beaten to death...

anyways, just wondering if it was possible to tighten the ebrake on the 01 S2000.

Problem: my ebrake handles goes up about 13-15 clicks. (from what i know, it should be around 7 clicks)

I called the shop that i normally take my car to and the tech says that the s2000 ebrake doesnt need to be manually adjusted as it adjusts itself when i step on the brake pedal?
and then he went and rambled on about how i may have a seized caliper??

I mentioned to the tech about tightening the bolt from the center console, but he said that by tightening the bolt it'll make my ebrake always engaged? is that true?

*its not that my ebrake doesnt engage when i pull it up, i just need to pull it up a lot higher.
i bought my car used about 2 years ago, and i think its always been like this, so im not sure if its like this normally or it should be half the distance that i'd have to pull.

thanks for any help!

the rear brake calipers were probable not adjusted properly when the rear pads were replaced. you should have the calipers adjusted befor the touching the e-brake adjuster.
your mechanic is right you shouldnt have to adjust the lever.

What can possibly happen if I did adjust it from the center console? What's so bad about doing it this way?

Why don't you download the searice manual?

http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/?file=H...ce%20Manual.pdf

You have to register before you can download...........

Corret me if i'm worng.
the cable might get over tightened when u put new rear pads if u adjust it from center console. u get 2~3 clicks instead of 7 click.

check your rear brake pads and see if it needs reaplcement or installed correctly.

So I just installed new rear pads and that is not the solution if your e bake is not working. Either tighten the bolt in the center console or underneath the car in the rear.
