Hi All,

New to the board. Been looking for a Vancouver/Seattle site for a long time. Never knew there was a Vancouver section in the S2ki site. Had always been on the s2kca site. Anyways, I was really pissed when I had an oil change the other day and it cost 81CDN. for an oil change??? I read the other post about the type 2a service and thought I'd add this. Anyways, glad to have found you 90%guys and 10% girls (saw that somewhere on the site..bad ratio agreed) who share in the same pride as I do.

Allan

Hey allan, why don't you join us on Wednesday for coffee? The ratio of guys to girls is about 1 to 1 (but unfortunately for you all the girls are taken)

Haha, thanks for the invite. I'd love to come. However, I'm not often in town midweek but will definitely try to make it out next time I'm in Vancouver on a wednesday.

You must consider that for an oil change, the "correct" oil filter is going for about $40.00 (including all taxes) and 6L of oil would run you about $30.00. So 10 bucks for labour is not bad.
If I were you, get the oil filter from the States (you didn't say where you are from) or buy from the forum store. The filters run about $6.00US and you can go get your own oil in the 4L jugs plus 2 X 1K bottles, do your own change and have a part of a bottle left for to up (total of maybe 30 Cannuck bucks). Or take the stuff to a neighborhood "quickie lube", watch them like a hawk and pay them the 1/4 hour labor to do it.

That's a really good idea that I will do after my warranty runs out. I've heard too many problems from other ppl about Honda and their "wonderful" service/warranty practices. I would hate to give them an excuse to void my engine warranty because I didn't have them do the servicing for me. I'll just continue to complain to myself and whoever will listen i guess until my 3 years are up. then my car will never see a honda dealer ever again. I'm not taking any chances with Honda.

Allan

Ps. anybody ever bring a filter with them to Honda and ask them to use it instead? If it's the same filter that they use it should not be an issue right? Hmm.
