^ drivability in the snow really depends on how deep the snow is!

i DD'd mine as well. tires make all the difference. i spent more money than i care to admit on snowtires and i was passing 4WD SUVs going uphill in the snow. and when the mood strikes, its wicked fun to stomp on the pedal. the only thing that annoyed the crap out of me was that you couldn't have the window open a crack or the melting snow water would flow into the cabin.
Sincerely,
Smaggs

Get winter tires. It's definitely not a problem as long as you drive cautiously when there is snow (obviously, depending on how deep the snow is - you don't use your S to plowing snow off your side street). Been driving with winters tires for the past 2 winters and haven't ran into any problems. Seriously, how many heavy snow days do we get here? Even if you do, it's just one or two days at the max. Good winter tires also make a huge difference during the fall when we get days with heavy rain. Hankook Icebears ftw.

Daily drove mine in the snow with a s/c one winter, should be fine. Just get some snow tires and a wheel alignment. Unless you have the funds or space for a winter beater, I would just go drive S year around. I'm assuming you're not boosted so you would have no traction problems. You bought the car to drive, so drive it.
