Doesn't really matter. Normally, Vancouver doesn't get cold enough where a 5W30 and 10W30 will make much of a difference. And when it does, how many guys here will still be driving their S's?
The 40 weight will have some impact on fuel consumption as it is a thicker oil, but we are probably only talking about a 10% difference which would be 30-40 km's difference per tank of gas.

i used 5w-40 when i had my s2k, if you had an ap1, then you might get less oil burning. I had 10w-30 and switched to 5w-40, and the change in oil consumption changed quite a bit
