WTB: 2008/9 AP2
Prepare for a "quest."
I believe Honda imported about 2600 '08 cars and 350 '09 cars (no doubt over-runs of the '08 models). That's less than 3000 (4.4%) of 'em so they're gonna be hard to find just from their rarity.
80% of the approximately 67,000 USA S2000s are pre-2006 leaving only 20% 2006 and later (with drive by wire, stability control, etc.) Many of the later cars are the desirable/undesirable CR model depending on what you want. I wanted an open car and '06 or later. Low mileage, too, of course. With only 13,500 post-'05 cars imported I was prepared to leave color to preference but not mandatory. 41% of all USA S2000 are some shade of silver. As is the '06 I purchased last summer with 38,500 miles.
No one has a good handle of the number of roadworthy S2000s. We see wrecks and race cars here every day so the numbers above are past tense. Couple that with the "fast and furious" syndrome cars and pure OEM cars are getting less common. Mine wasn't stock but I was able to fit OEM wheels. My "tasteful"
modifications are all reversible if I ever need to sell it. It's my belief the OEM cars will retain the most value in the long run and are just as much fun to drive. (Priced Austin-Healey 3000 these days?

willing to travel? Im in Miami. I purchased my '07 GPW last year with 19,801 miles on it 100% bone stock in Mint Condition. Only issue was side bolster wear and a tiny hole in top i covered up. $26k. I paid a lot but i got exactly what i wanted. to tear one of these gems away from their owner you're going to have to pay a premium. just saying... I would only sell mine if someone offered say $30k ish...and i just hit 22k miles last month
