Default 04 Tire Oversizing on A MY01...Need Input

Hey guys,

Tried to do a little searching and nothing fits my situation. I have a MY 01 s2k and got 04 wheels/tires for it. i am about to replace the tires and was wondering if I can oversize the front and rear tires without having any issues.

I have read posts that people went 225F and 255R for 17's. But I do not know if this applies to a pre 04 s2k with 04 wheels. Can I also do this? Or should I stick with stock tire size?

Any help would be appreciated!

You can do the oversizing but your side wall will protude outwards beyond the rim and might look off. Additionally your handling will probably be adversly affected.

I would upsize the rim width to accomadate the large tire size that you want. 255's on a 8" rim is too much IMO for the rear.

I wouldn't do it unless the tires you absolutely wanted only came in 225/255.

FYI:
MY00 with 04 wheels with 225/45/17 F and 255/40/17 R tires - no problem.
