04 Tires
I have a 2004 S2000. Honda spec tire size is
Front: 215/45-17
Rear: 245/40-17
I have about 8000 miles on my OEM Bridgestone 050s, and they are great tires. Unfortunaetly they are pricey and dont have the best tread rating. (Also b/c it is Rio Yellow so it has more power then a regular S). I will probably need a new rear set in about 4000 miles. So just to plan ahead I am looking at some options and would appreciate some opinions. I am considering:
1. Kuhmo ECSTA MX
2. Yokohama AVS ES100
3. Yokohama AVS Sport
These are all priced about the same and get great reviews on Tire Rack. I would just like to get some more opinions on these tires, and also do I go with the OEM 245/40 in the rear and 215/45 in the front or does a non OEM tire require a smaller or larger size?
Thanks in advance!!!

I heard the Kuhmo ECSTA MX are good tires for the price. My friend told me its like a S03 but for a cheaper price. But I never had any personal experience with the Ecsta Mx though. I know how you man, I had to replace one RE050 and it cost me close to 300.
The MX would be the best of the bunch for handling but would be the lowest tread life of the tires you mention. I would stay with your OE tire sizes. The Yoko ES100 would last the longset and give the better wet traction. Other options you could look at with longer life would be the Fuzion ZRI by Bridgestone or the RE750 by Bridgestone.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

I've only got 6000 miles on mine, but when they go, I'm going to get Falken Azenis. My bud has them on his '68 Porsche and loves them. They got a great tread pattern for dry (it doesn't rain much in San Diego) and are pretty cheap, at $109 (front) and $117 (rears).
Tirerack.com doesn't carry them (damn!). Those prices were from edgeracing.com

So how long are these RE050's gonna last? I guessing 15 - 20 K miles, even with a bunch of autocrosses on them. They still look close to new.
