Default 40mm offset with pics

I've noticed that there is a general consesus that 40mm offset wheels will not fit on an S2k. I though i'd try it out anyway and it appears that they do fit. It's not a perfect fit, but they do fit. I'm running 225/45/17's on all 4 corners and I just know someone will say that's bad, but It handles pretty well comparing to stock without a stagger. The wheels are 17x7's with as I mentioned a 40mm offset. I have had no rubbing on stock suspension but will drop it .75 inches this weekend. Here are the pics, I'll post more tomorrow of the whole car. Comments more than welcome.

ick! doenst look good with the front wheels poking out like that. back looks ok, but will look pretty wimpy from the rear view with only a 7'' wheel.

I can almost guarantee it will rub.

BTW, i kinda dig what u did with your clear corners. is that just like a translucent black paint on the naked reflectors?

You'll likely have to roll your fenders.
May still rub anyway.
Let us know what happens.

any wheel will fit, its not just a matter of offset but tires.

im going to be running 18x10.5 +62 which is insane.. but factor in a pulled on 285/30 and rolled fender and itl work.. ur rears look fine.. if u rolled fender. but ur fronts dont fit at all.. maybe w/ a 225 theyd look decent

HAHA, people really have trouble figuring wheels sizes. a +40mm offset will work if you have a 7" wide wheel. It's not that bad. You may rub but very little. People aren't taking into account that wheels width plays just as big a factor as offset. I could run a +20mm offset on a 4" wide wheel.

BTW, why would you want wheels (ugly ones at that) that are as heavy and skinny as those. My goal is to go as light, wide, and low offset as I can without rubbing on the body work.

notice how far out the rear wheel is. Wider track = better handling

If you like it, that's all that counts.
