The way it is now I think it is going to rub.
You are not, so you will very likely have rubbing issues.
Just for my clarification, you guys think his fronts will rub, correct? His rear wheels are within the recommended offset (from the guide) and he's running narrower tires.

thanks . . .

Well, maybe he thinks your wheels are ugly as well. I personally don't like yours myself. It's his car and maybe he really likes his wheels. Did you ever think that his goals might be different from yours? All I am saying is that the guy is posting about his offset, not whether or not you like his wheels. I hope he achieves what he wants. Although, I do wonder why he does not keep the staggerd setup?

Thank You !!

Not every1 here gets the S to race it. They get it just to have a nice looking car

Correct... except for the part about running narrower tires. A 225 on the rear with a 40 offset is just about as close to rubbing as you'll get.

The front is in bad shape.

And they can create an unsafe car if they want to, which is what has happened here. Are you condoning that as well?

I don't think that I've created an unsafe car. I'm changing the front tires to 205/50/17 which will give me a stagger close to stock and also bring the tires more inside the fenders. This cars limits are beyond the driving skills of most people that own them anyway, so my wheels won't make a huge difference from stock since 80 of the time it's a daily driver for me. However most people here are frowning on my wheels because they are not tuner wheels. The thing is that almost all the s2000 that I look at throughout this website all have the same wheels. Where is the individuality? Perhaps no one is trying anything different because most people here frown on it.

If you change the front tires to 205s, then you're good to go except that you have set the car up with wheels and tires narrower than stock on the rear, reducing its potential. (Just cause the rears are 225s like the stock size, doesn't mean they are the same. Read the tire sticky at the top of the forum page.)

But the fact is, if you leave the 225s on the front, it IS an unsafe car. It has nothing to do with how gingerly you drive it!!! It has everything to do with how the car will react in an accident-avoidance maneuver or similar situation, which is somewhat out of your control, especially if you don't regularly track or autocross the car and know where the limits are.

Do you see the difference between those two scenarios? Driving leisurely and avoiding an accident?

Fore warning Moderators, I'm aware of potential thread lock and/or being booted but I'm getting tired of this mentality and need to vent.

Jon, for one, I could care less if you or anyone else likes my car or me. But I post pictures of it on the internet like this guy did, and take whatever compliments or flames without asking for anyone elses defense. I'm guessing you were the dork on the playground and got picked on a lot, and instead of not being a dork, you just cried about it. People like you are the reason we have this sissy @$$ political correctness BS.

This owner posted pictures of his car, you can't expect everyone to like it, and since in this country we have freedom of speech, someone like myself might tell him I think it's ugly or stupid. I'm hoping at 17 years of age this guy can handle it.

Bottomline is Black2001S2K put under par wheels and tires on his car. And will now attempt to drive the car the way he did when he had nice performing factory spec equipment, wrap around a tree, and yours, mine, and everyone elses insurance will go up. So in turn, we can try to enlighten him on the better path to be taken, or we can bitch at everyone that doesn't agree with what he did.

BTW, running a non staggered set up is fine, but only when you are matching the front tires to with width of the rear (245's) or going bigger all the way around. It's really never a good idea to run skinnier tires than stock front or rear. Just beaware that if you run 245's or 255's all at all four corners, the car will have more overall grip, but when the limit of traction hits, the car will have less understeering tendencies making the car more neutral and depending on circumstances more oversteer.
