Hello,
My question is three fold.
1. Is an 8.5 inch rim on the front too big?
2. The offsets are +45 all around, is that OK?
3. What size tires should I go with?

Thanks,
Adrian

1. Yes
2. No
3. Find wheels that will actually fit then ask for tire sizes.

If you do go with a 8 1/2 in front, you are going to need at least a 9 1/2 or 10 in wheel for the rear to keep the same stagger. The +45 offset on this wide of a wheel will make them stick way out past the fenders. They will rub like hell.

1. The approved rim width for a 215/35-18 is 7.0'' to 8.5''
The approved rim width for a 245/40-18 is 8.0'' to 9.5''

2. Least +50 I think.

3. +50 offset 215 front 245 rear will work.. Got answer from search

rubbing? NOt sure

Yep, that is the approved rim width. But, when you get that wide, offsets are CRITICAL! You would need at least a +50, maybe more on the 8.5in fronts and if you went with a 9.5in rear, you would need offsets somewhere near +65 to +70.

what if I use staggered tires for 8.5 all round..??

I found set of rims that has +50 offset but all round 8.5 width

and think about staggered tires size

215 or 225 front and

245 or 255 rear

Other question in my mind was

7.5 width rim with 215 tires
8.5 width rim with 215 tires

What makes different? 7.5 to 8.5 rims will change the

actual tires width . I know that 8.5 will stick out more with same offset.

Thanks

Shawn
