Are AP2 V1 wheels on AP1...an upgrade?
Yes. Fronts need a minimum of 5mm spacers thought to clear the brake calipers, and then you're good to go. I have 4x rears that will be put on very soon. Best part is that you can rotate tires too, saving you $$$

I just switched to AP2V3 wheels and love it! Better choice in tires, wider wheels, improved looks. Paid only $425 for wheels with OEM tires with 7k miles on them!
I just read this thread and am excited to learn that this may be a great upgrade path that's simple and straight forward for non-expert to do!
Before I go out and buy some AP3V3 wheels, I was hoping that someone could confirm for me that this is truly a simple a plug and play upgrade. I get the wheels, get new tires, hand them over to a shop to mount them, and roll out with a bigger wheel that looks better than 16s and performs well.
I find the whole wheel/tire fitment thing to be soooo confusing. I use my S2000 all year round as a daily driver and still love it after 10+ years! I guess the only thing I've done "different" wheel/tire wise is I have a spare set of wheels in my garage with Bridgestone Blizzaks that get me through the snowy/icey weather I have to deal with for a couple of months.
All the Best, Steve
