Well people I got myself a set of ap2v1's but they need to be blasted/stripped and then either polished or powder coated depending what I want to do. Whats getting me is a cost ratio here.

Wheels were $400
shipping was $130
walnut blasting is $160
powder coat is $340

IF I do all that I will be into them $1030 w/out tires. Im not being cheap or anything becuase im about to pull the trigger on doing this but just wanted to jump on here if anyone knows of a wheel thats already done that looks pretty similar to the AP2v1's. I guess im just second guessing doing all this work when I could just but wheels already done. Get what im sayin?


On a side note, my S is Silverstone, and im thinking if I powder coat its either gloss black (a lot of people have it though so im kind of steearing away from that) Gunmetal ( would like to get a glossy finsh so they dont look dirty like a matte) or like a lighter grey or somethig. Any Ideas. Also, how does polished look, dont see a lot of that.

 

Enkie pf01 look somewhat similar and can be had for that amount

 

ouch 500 total to get powder coated?

paid 200 for my first set of wheels and 300 for my second set to be powder coated.

id look into another shop.

 

Why did you pay 400 for stock wheels that needed redoing? You can get a flawless set for 500 if you shop around a bit. I sold my v2's for 450 and they were perfect. If your gonna spend a g on wheels at least upgrade to an enkei, tsw, etc. Just a thought.
