I felt the sluggishness when I put them on my Ap1...The rears with tires are heavy.

You need to remove the weights used to balance the wheels and make sure the scale is properly calibrated. I know, I'm being picky. Just sayin'...

Yea that is way overly picky...if you've ever looked at the weights the stick on ones are 1/4 oz each and the ones that clamp on the side are ~ 1 oz...The wheels themselves can vary by more than 2 oz from one to the next brand new.

Any comments unrelated feel free to PM me

OEM brake weight??
would anyone someone anyone know this?

I'm sure aftermarket while being expensive
must be quite a bit lighter!

And I would think it would make just as a profound
effect to unsprung weight as opting for lighter wheels
would make.

Very nice can you add that info to your first post. I've already added this to the library and will edit the title since you've added this info.

I'll add weights of the SRC's, KW's, Bilsteins and Öhlins to the library as well.

Maybe I'll title it "Weight Weenies" j/k

edited, I pretty much weigh everything I can when I take it off the car. Sadly there isn't too much more I plan to take off for a while. I've been thinking about removing the tar/sound deadening under the seats so I could possibly weigh the carpet too. Also, all of the tar in both the trunk, on top of the rear wheel wells, and the rear decklid (under the soft top tray) totals to ~ 5.25 lbs

these numbers seem not correct.

passenger seat is not that heavy.
oem steering wheel should be a lot heavier.
oem hardtop should be 45-47lbs.

06+ passenger seat with rails is that heavy...

here is the brake down of the components of the seat, and yes I went that far.

Components
Px Seat back = 13.95
Px Seat bottom = 9.0
Px rail = 17.06 left rail = 8.175 right = 7.8 center = 1.08
Driver Seat back = 14.06
Driver Seat bottom = 8.49
Driver rail = 10.0 left rail = 4.46 right = 5.54

The OEM steering wheel is also that heavy, that is minus the airbag which I listed separately...total weight with both combined is ~ 6lbs.

The hardtop is one thing that would be really hard to fit on that scale so when I corner weighed the car before and after I had my half cage built we weighed it with and without the hardtop...no other changes. That way I could finally put debate to an end regarding how much it weighs. If I only end that debate for myself thats fine with me. The car with me in it and a practically empty tank of fuel weighed 2827 with the top and 2773 without the top.
