So the recommended 245 rear for non oem tires does not apply here?

For reference, we have 2 other owners local to me who run the LM-22. They are using the OEM sizing (205 front, 225 rear).
I do the same, on OEM MY01 wheels.

We rarely get real snow here, but the LM22 does very, very well in several inches of snow. Haven't tried them in a real dumping of snow, but I suspect they would be fine, if you drive intelligently.

Winter tires should be about one size narrower to get good bite. 225 in snow tires will be slightly narrower than the OEM SO2, which is a good thing. Of course, if you really want a comparable width in your rear snow tires, the go with 245. The fronts are narrow enough already and a 205 will work quite nicely there. A 195 up front would just be too narrow but would also work. It would just look a bit odd.

And a Calgary resident would be an authority! My wife and I were snowed out of our campsite in Banff in mid-August a few years ago, so I suspect that you do get a bit of snow in Calgary.

I prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Snow accumulation from year to year varies. It's those surprise ones in May and June that really slow us down. Over a foot in less than a day and then it's gone in two.
