Default Care and feeding of a polished lip?

I dont' have an S2k but I haven't been able to get much help from my fellow MR2 drivers in this respect. Hoping you fellas can answer my question.

Just purchased a new set of wheels for the '2, nothing real fancy but they do have a polished lip and I'm curious if that requires some special care. Or can I just use ordinary wheel cleaner without worry? I usually use some detailer's product, can't remember the name of it but it's a non-acidic wheel cleaner, a sort of light green liquid.

I would just wash them with soap and water and put a coat of wax on them. I am not a big fan of wheel cleaners. I would say if you would spray the cleaner on the hood of your car go ahead and spray your wheels with it.

In my experience soap and water cannot get the copious amounts of Carbotech brake dust off my wheels... not even close.
