Default What is a good wheel cleaner/protector?

I was wondering what products some of you use to clean your wheels and protect them with from brake dust/dirt. On one of my cars, the wheels are painted black, so I need something to keep them looking good. Also, what is a good polish to use for a polished lip? Thanks!

I just tried Four Stars Ultimate Wheel Cleaner Gel on a 98 BMW today. You may be asking gel? Weel its a first for me, but it doesnt run like traditional products, smells nice, and if you follow the link, its looks even better !
Look here.....
Its also pays dividends if you apply some of your sealant or wax to your wheels....At a minimum spray and wipe some flash detailer on there....

Those are the only two cleaners I use. They won't harm the wheel but you'll also need to use a little elbow grease.

some folks like wheel wax

http://www.wheelwax.com/

my first choice is to wash the wheels with my car shampoo and a wheel brush (as long as they just have "normal" brake dust & dirt)... then i dry, and usually throw on a coat or two of zaino-
and then every few days i hit the wheels with a california duster (that i use only on wheels) and then a detailers spray.

I mentioned some wheel cleaners but good ol' soap and water is hard to beat as part of your regular wash. I wash them last with a different mit.

Simple Green can dull the finish on your wheels. It is very alkaline and is quite corrosive to aluminum and bare metals.

I just tried out Griots wheel cleaner. The stuff works pretty well. Wet the wheels sparay em down, let em sit a minute and then a little scrub and all the grime comes off nicely. As for the finish carnuba wax works well.
