Default Confusion on selecting wheels

Hi,
I'm new a new owner of an S. The first mod I plan on doing are new wheels and tires. I'm very confused with offsets. What are ideal? Or does it depend on the wheel. What about wheel width? I searched and didn't come up with anything. If anyone can direct me to any resouces on choosing wheels, that would be great.

I'm thinking of running 17s. 7.5F/8.5R seem to be a popular choice. As far as tires, Ive read that most run 225F/255R and have no rubbing issues.
Rim choices:
Volk ce28n
Advan RGII
BBS LMs (willing to run 18s If I can find one <3k)
Spoon sw38
-any other suggestions? Performance comes before looks so I'm leaning away from the heavier wheels

Thanks all.
Steve

Here's a link to the wheel fitment guide:

The Volk CE28n's are nice with the +50f/+63r offsets but I may be a bit prejudiced.

For fitment purposes I've been a huge fan of the CE28N's in 17" size. Let's get you to the proper forum now

From the list above Volk will be your best bet.

Spoon never had a 17inch. So if you are going to run those you'll be using 16's.

I would also suggest looking into Prodrives I am a little biased though . They have about 4-5 different designes that will work in either staggered on non-staggered fitment. They are lightwieght forged wheels, made by RAY's/Volk

since the Spoons don't come in 17s you should consider the Desmond Regamasters...

TR Motorsports F3 on the tirerack website. They were made to exact AP2 specifications, lightweight, strong (forged), and MUCH cheaper than Volks. They're made by Enkei by the way. Call Jim@tirerack for pricing, etc. I received mine from Shreveport the day after I ordered them at no extra cost.

Otherwise I think the Enkei RPF1 is a nice economical choice although your tire sizes may be a little limited.

There are better tires than the RE030 for handling. The RE01R and the Yokohama Advan Neova would be the two best. I also do like the TR Motorsport F3 for what you are looking to do. They are lighter than stock wheels and the offset is perfect.
If I can help let me know.
