I'm considering these as well. Going to be on S2000 spec BBS LM's and was thinking about 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. Do you think I can run anything wider without having to pull/roll fenders? I'm also going to be dropped about an inch.
225/40/18 and 255/35/18 you won't rub (I didn't with RE-01r's) ... anything wider with about a 1" drop you will start to rub on road dips and at the track.
Also, my camber at the rear was -2. If you can go -3 you shouldn't rub with a 1" drop even at the track. The wider Direzza's may make sense at -3 as well.

OK, so I have been on these tires for 4 months now (probably close to 6k miles) and they have about 50% left in the rear and 75% in the front. My alignment after the rims was set a bit more to stock and less crazy with the camber. The rain sucks now. I dread roads that do not have proper draining and it looks like FL is going to have a very wet summer. The dry traction is still awesome, but the wet leaves alot to be desired when they are worn, as Willie has posted before. Still not noisy but thay have to compete with my 70mm test pipe and Greddy single combo.

A friend of mine owns a tire shop and his distributor told him that these tires are no longer available... is that true? I was going for the 225/255 combo... someone please tell me there still available... and if they are why would they tell him their not?

Tire Rack still has them and Jim hasn't said they are discontinuing the tire, so I can only assume they are readily available. No idea why your friend can't get them though.
