Try something like 205/50-17 front 235/45-17 rears for sizes. Blizzak WS80 looks like an option...
I have much more "fun" in the 4x4 Tacoma with 33x12.50 siped MT's, and knowing my girl is at home safe in the garage where it should be. Proper tool, for the proper job.

Fire and Thief coverage in the winter while it sleeps, probably cost like $50 for 6 months.

I never liked driving trucks much, or even riding in them. Vastly prefer the S2000. Fun sideways at the track, fun sideways in the snow I've never gotten stuck or had any issues and I'm on my 9th(!) winter driving it through any/all RI/southeast Mass weather. Before the s2k I dailied 240SXs, FC RX-7, and an old '85 535i through winter months back to '98.

If I lived in a place where I had to make it through unplowed deep snow, I'd get another vehicle. Where I am I'm sticking with small, low, rwd sports/sporty cars all year.

Tacoma is a fantastic truck, its smaller, more maneuverable (at least the older ones I own) Its the s2k of 4x4 pickups you could say. The difference between driving the two platforms in the snow, is im out goofing off having a good time trying to get stuck in the Tacoma. In the S, its trying to avoid getting stuck, and then having some tool that doesn't know what they are doing on the road crash into me and total my beloved. Not to mention I dont like rusting out the bottom of my sports cars from road grime and salt. Your also limited to about 3" of snow before your done.I start plowing the front at 18" in the Tacoma so thats its limit. Again proper tool for the proper job. Just logic to me. I think your the nutty one!

The S is indeed fun to drive on the snow, with the correct tires.

The problem is driving on the roads after they are cleared. Roads are wet, and covered in salt. No fun there, and the water makes the salt get everywhere.

Here in the East, the fun, snow covered part lasts a few hours at best. The wet, salt gets everywhere and brushing up against your car gets you filthy and scratches grit into your paint, that lasts for days. Not to mention corrodes your car.

To me, pleasure not worth the pain...

I bought my S because I loved the way it drives, I didn't buy it to not drive it! 212k on the clock now. It's a fantastic car and all, but it isn't so precious that it can't be enjoyed year-round. Looking forward to snow this weekend

Me too. First year I got the S, drove it all through the New England winter, despite having an Audi beater to use. It was fun. Sometimes. When it was wet, and cold, roads kicking nasty stuff onto the car, car covered in uniBrown, not as much fun. Especially knowing the damage to the paint was nothing compared to damage occurring underneath.

My S is a DD, not a weekend halo car. Still, It pained me to make it go through that.

Year 2 I parked the S and started driving the Audi through winter.
