Default important question about alignment-bald tires and snow

Normaly i don't drive my car in the snow but this morning it was around 32 degrees and i have been catch up by some snow ( very little )
My tires are almost bald so i was expecting difficulties but i didn't expect that much of it !!
Location : highway
Max speed autorised ( when good whether ) : 100 km/h ( 60miles / h )
There was no wind and i was driving my car very slow ( 35 miles / h ) because my car car was very unstable ( the rear was waving from left to right )
I used to have rear driven car !
I'm used to push my car hard so i know it's reaction !
So my questions are : Do i need an alignment on the rear because of this waving problem ?
Is it someting with the lsd ? ( someting like it doesn't know wich wheel need the power ? )

Thanks !

BTW : I know i need tires ( there coming next week )'!!

I see your logic:
bald tires + snow, resultant in loose rear end. therefore, bad alignment? problem with the lsd?

I think it's your stars that are out of alignment buddy. wait until your horoscope says, "Now that it's June, the weather is warm, the snow is melted... good time to replace any worn components on your car."

and there's nothing wrong with the lsd. it's just not a good idea to fry and drive. tracers n all that.

p.s.-- it's not the brown acid right? I heard somewhere once, "Don't eat the brown acid."

... ok, enough humor at your expense. seriously, wait until you have conditions suitable for driving your car within it's design specifications (no snow, warmer temperatures) and replace any worn components (tires) before determining whether you have any issues with the drivetrain.

you don't need an alignment, the waving is from your rear tires fighting each other (from the toe in)

wait till the roads improve, buy some new tires, and have fun.

You found the words that i was looking for, it's exactly what it looked like: fighting each other !!!
That's why i asked the questions : Do you guys think i need an alignment ? or do you think 'there is a problem with the lsd ?
I know bald tire and snow are not a good combo but that's not the point, the point is that i had a consistant rapid waving from left to right instead of just sliding slowly from left to right.

BTW : The toe is not suppose to be "0" on the rear ?
Thanks !

There IS supposed to be toe in at the rear......that's why our tires last so long "D

t.c., I believe you still don't quite "get it". Even new SO2s in any kind of snow is a BAD thing. You tried it with bald SO2's. The other posters here have just tried to "clue you in". Take a bit of time and re-read their responses before you get roasted.
