More on Yokohama AVS Intermediates
Since I really like this tire on the stock wheel, I ordered a couple of sets of 215/255 for the 17" rims I have. The stagger is nice with those sizes and the extra width is nice, too. I will track these tires under nonracing tire category, as well as use them on the street, after the Hoosiers on the 17"ers are corded.
Thanks to Jim and others at Tire Rack for helping to scrounge up what they could find to ship. I think by the time these are used up, there likely will be no more AVS/Is.

I have the 245 and 215 on my 17" wheels. At pahrump last month, I thought the balance was pretty good. On the street though, I think the stagger might not be quite enough. I notice quite a bit more oversteer goofing around on the road. I have no idea why it would be worse on the street.

On Tire Rack's purchasers' feedback on this tire, I was surprised a few people also auto-x with this tire regularly and like it. The tread life may be a bit low, but so are oems and this also may mean more "stick".
