Default Need 17x8 wheels for track use only

I've been shopping for a set of wheels for a little while, mainly on Tirerack.com, but I can't find any 17x8's with offsets over 50mm. From what I understand this size on the front will rub if I run a 245 wide tire, and will rub with anything over 215. I'm wanting to run 245's square, but it seems like I will need a wheel that is closer to 60mm offset.

The class I'm racing in has a maximum width restriction on wheels of 8", otherwise I think I could find something with higher offsets.

I was looking at the Kosei K4R, but the offset is 50mm. Sounds like a problem, as I have searched for other topics on these wheels and I can't get much info.

Thanks!

Are you at stock ride height? Are you allowed to roll the fenders? If you at OEM height I think you should be ok with a 17x8 +50 in front with a 245.

Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 25.7mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 0.3mm more than before.

According to that the difference from the 17x9 +63 and the 17x8 +50 is .3m which is not noticeable. If you are lowered you will want to roll the fenders as I have seen even high offset wheels rub in the front if the car is lowered and tracked.

The issue will be the mushroomed tire profile on the outside edge grabbing the fender under suspension compression. It will be sticking out about 10-12mm more then current, so account for this now. If your running an aggressive front track alignment -3 to -4 and high caster 7+ it may not be an issue depending on where you are now. The rear fitment will be fine without a roll no matter what alignment.

Prodrive GC-07J is 17x7.5 +55mm @ 16.5lbs

Offset seems better but your tire will mushroom even more.

THAT'S GOOD TO KNOW!!! I'm preparing the car for STU, hah! Are they running the same size and offset Front and Rear? Seems like +48 with 17x8's on the front would mean they either live with the tires rubbing all the time, or they have pulled/trimmed/rolled the fenders more than the 'usual' amount.
I'll probably still go with the K4R's in +50mm spacing. Seems that it will work with my setup. The car will be lowered such that it is 4.0 inches off the ground, more or less, with the wheel/tire setup of 17x8 245 square. Negative camber F&R, though I cannot say exactly how much just yet, and I will roll the fenders as well.

I'm fairly certain that it's not all that extreme. I'm running 17x9 +48 with 255/ square on my car for just general track day fun with some TT thrown in - it's not that crazy of a roll.

The R&C forum might give you a bit more insight for prepping for STU and track use.

I watched the races last night on Speedcasttv.com, Hartanto just walked away with the win in STU. The T3 battle was much better to watch.
