Sorry dont mean to hijack post but I have a similar question. I have rpf1 in 17x8 +45 in the front and 17x9 +35 in the rear (they came on the car when i brought it). I recently picked up stock ap2v1 rims. I am new to autocross and i am not doing it to be competitive just doing it to have fun, so not to worried about what class i get put into.
I am going to be buying tires in the next month and have narrowed it down to the re71r. I am not sure if i should purchase tires for the ap2 rims or the rpf1 rims.

If I order for the rpf1 i can do a 215/45 front and a 245/40 rear and not worry about rubbing. I could also do a 225/45 front and do a 245/40 rear but then the front would have be a larger diameter and not sure how that would effect handling.

If I go with the ap2 rims I should be able to run 225/45 and a 255/40.

I guess my questions Should i go with the ap2 rims and run the wider tires? Could I fit a 255/40 on the rpf1 rears with the +35 offset with no rubbing or will i have to roll the fenders?

-Fenders are not rolled
-Tabs are not relocated
stock alignment

Again sorry for a the questions. I tried a search but was not getting many results.

With a 9 +35 you are going to need to roll the fenders and relocate the tab regardless, 245 will indeed rub if not done. 255 will barely fit, going to need to run more then optimum performing camber. Typically you would choose the 9 +45 and it would be the better fitment option. So to answer your question, 225/255 on stock rims if you want to not deal with fender rolling.

Honda engineers spend quality time with the wheel and tire sizes. With the AP2V1 wheels the OEM tire sizes are great. I'm running the now-unavailable Bridgestone RE-11A tires and will, no doubt, fit the RE-71A tires when they're replaced. Try these before messing with the RPF1 tires and different tires.

My car came with RPF1 wheels and Dunlap Z2 (?) tires. Couldn't wait to get rid of both. The RPF1's being black didn't help and the Dunlaps were noisy. You may want to save your RPF1 wheels in the event you want to play more with Autocross tires. But for 99% of us the OEM wheels and RE-71A tires are more than enough for our driving skills.

i currently have 215/45 front and a 245/40 rear on the rpf1 and dont rub that is why i was going to initially run the re71r in that size. I dont daily drive the car but sometimes use it for the weekend. Thats is why I brought the ap2 rims so I can switch out tires since I read that the re71r wear quickly.
I know the back being +35 on the rpf1 is limiting the size of tires I can run on the rear.

I ws just going to move the tires from the rpf1 since they are fairly decent on thread and order new tires for the rpf1 rims. I will look at ordering tires for the ap2 rims and just use the rpf1. i ws just hoping the 215/45 245 /40 combination wouuld be okay for autocross
