Default Need help with tire sizes!

I have an 04' S2000 that i need wheels for so I can put my snow tires on them. I was wondering if i'd be able to get 4 wheels the same size, that way i can get some off ebay for cheap. The tires i'll be using are 225/45/17 all th way around. Will 17X7's all the way around work. (currently 17X7 front, 17X8.5 on the back). What about the offset? will some like these work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-Black-Wh...1QQcmdZViewItem

I run non-staggered setup on my MY05 in a 16" size for the winter. Rims are cheap, tires are cheap.

I think I have 16X7 w/ 215-50/16.

The rear end gets a bit squirelly when driven with a bit of enthusiasm.

17 X 7 rims will work all around if the offset is not much below about 40 to 45 mm.
A 225 tire may stick out in the front a bit but not too bad. Without a proper tire size stagger, you best not drive too aggressively on dry roads. You'll wallow like a hypo going through high speed curves.
You might be better to go 215 front. The only problem I see with 17" is that your snow tire choices are far more limited.

Those are real purdy rims. Just confirm the offset and if they're more than 40 and if you're putting on reasonable width of snows, they'll work.

the ones i asked about are +40. should i look for something higher? reason i keep asking about these is because i actually like the way they look too. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-Black-Wh...1QQcmdZViewItem

As I stated before, if you go with the 225 tires, it will stick out a bit on the fronts. A 215 won't be quite as bad and a 205 would be better, but not sure if you can get a 205 in the proper aspect ratio for a 17" size. The 225 will be fine in the rear.
