Had Star Specs and they are a great tire.....until you hit the secondary compound at about 4/32, then they get very slick (like they are heat cycled).
Went to the RS 3 and it holds grip until it basically cords.
I autox and do DEs do my tires see all facets and the RS 3 in 225/255 has been the best tire I have tried to this point. The RS 3 has a softer sidewall so you do have to run a bit higher pressure to assist in sidewall rollover.
For reference
The new Car and Driver has an article called Mosters of Grip where they compare 9 summer performance tires. Here's how they ended up:
Overall (combination of dry, wet, and real world performance):
1. Michelin Pilot Super Sport
2. Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position
3. Yokohama Advan Neova AD08
4. Hankook R-S3
5. Continental Extrememcontact DW
6. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2
7. Toyo Proxes R1R
8. Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec
9. Prielli P Zero
Dry Performance is what I'm more interested personally, as I'll be looking to get a slightly grippier tire when my V12s are used up for occasional track and autocross days + daily driving. I'm leaning toward either the R-S3 or Star Specs.
Here's how they ranked in dry performance (autocross, roadholding, braking, subjective feel):
1. Yokohama Advan Neova AD08
2. Hankook R-S3
3. Michelin Pilot Super Sport
4. Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec
5. Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position
6. Toyo Proxes R1R
7. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2
8. Continental Extrememcontact DW
9. Prielli P Zero

I think the Starspecs are the best mix of dry performance, responsiveness, wet performance, cost, longevity(relatively speaking) for a performance tire.

Thanks for any help offered on here.

Did you end up with the PSS? Glad I could help you out with that demo a couple weeks ago.
There was a thread started about a year ago on these tires:
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/918...-super-sports/
The OP has a slightly wider setup on 18s, but what I found interesting was after 8,000 miles his rears still have 75% tread.
On my setup (stock AP2 wheels), I've got about 3,000 miles with probably similar driving, and I haven't even worn through the chamfered edges on the sipes yet, which are maybe .5mm into the grooves.
