Default Optimal time to switch from summers to winters?

Just wondering when its best to switch off summer tires and put on winter tires?

I thought I remember people saying summer tires get bad around 40 degrees? So once the daytime highs go no higher than 45 degrees, I should put on the winter tires then?

I hold off until snowflakes are in the air. Just let your summer tires warm up a bit on cold mornings before you nail it in a corner or the rear end WILL break loose.

yeah i think its still kinda early, if i were you i'd put on the winter set at the end of the month

i had my blizzak mounted today, was going to wait til the end of the month but i one of the rear tire was damaged and wasnt holding air so i was sort of forced to mount the blizzaks now

i ordered a set of ssr sp1 but theyre not here yet, i'll probably get summer tires for them in the spring, cause theres really no point in getting them now and drive for a month and put them away

I like to wait till Thanksgiving as well but really when the temps are below 45 degrees you will be fine. At the colder temps the performance tires will loose about 30% of there traction.
