I recommend painting, as the heat applied in the powder coating process can potentially weaken the metal of certain wheels if the temperature is too high.

Here's a discussion concerning a Honda OEM wheel which failed after being powder coated: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/718...ap2v1s-failure

Plasti-Dip. I have wheels dipped matte black and matte white w/ Plasti-Dip clear. The white I wouldnt use on a DD. But its perfect on a weekend warrior. I clean my white wheels roughly every 3 times its driven.

Definitely powder coat. Much more durable and last a lot longer. Most powders now cure at around 375 which won't cause any issues at all.

Key thing: Go to a reputable shop for powder coating. Metal that are heat cycled too many times is never good especially wheels. If you plan on hitting the track, I would highly recommend paint. Powder Coat is overall more durable in comparison to paint which is better for a daily. If you go with powder, make sure they don't leave it in the oven for too long, not even 5 minutes too long.
