Default Question for Jeff from Evolution

Hi:

I got 17" Volk CE28Ns from you. The lugnut box that came with the wheels includes some plastic pieces (hub ring?) that (I think) goes to the hubs. Do we need to use them for the S2000? Also any concern regarding taking the nuts off properly using an air impact wrench?

Thanks.

Not sure if Jeff has the time to check this forum. You should PM him using his profile in that other thread you asked this in. He will eventually see that post of yours there.
You can remove lugs using an impact wrench. You can ONLY use an impact wrench to put them on if you can set the torque on the wrench or use the proper range of "torque stick". It is better if you use a regular torque wrench to tighten lugs up.
As for the rings, I would think that if the rims came with them, they should be used.

Hi Blondie,

Could you post some feedback about your rims once you've rolled on them a little; how do they feel... does your steering feel any lighter... does straight line performance seem to be improved... how do they look. Regarding that last one, some pics would be nice.
Thanks

Hub-centric rings are essential with Volk wheels;and I agree with Xviper, please use a proper torque wrench when installing wheels not an impact

Also, I seem to have two thin ones and three thick ones. I just installed the rears with the tick ones. It was hard to put them on the wheels, so I decided to place them on the hubs so that as I tighten the nuts, it would be "put on" with homogenous pressure from the circular surface. Anyways, this techique did work, but what I am left with now is one thick and two thin ones? So , what's the deal? Would anyone with Volk wheels kindly comment???

Hello, I think we just spoke over the phone. I answered all of your questions, let me know if you have more. The thicker hub rings go into the rear of the wheels. The thinner go into the front.

Another question for Jeff: When do I need to replace these rings? In other words to they ever wear out?

Thanks.
