Well, then this is no good! Why would you buy these wheels if you are not wanting to take your car to track!!! It would be fair if they indicated that, informed us about the price of this wear item and how often it needs to be changed. At least they could have thrown in a couple of sets for future use.

Beware Volk buyers!!!

Well, everything when you use for track go thru abuse of track. Like tires and in this case the hub centric ring. I understand if you think Volk should provide an extra few sets. But everything that will go thru tracks will go thru abuse. I'm pretty sure a lot of people are aware of this. Just like your axle, your transmission, your differential are all going to be abused at the track. Does that mean all s2000 buyers should be aware? We do have these hub centric rings laying around. If anyone is interested in doing a lot of track times, you can give us a call and have a few sets of extras laying around.

Beware Volk buyers, are you kidding me? anything you use in "extreme cases" such as the track is already known that parts will wear down MUCH faster than "normal" use. boo you

Sorry, I don't agree. These wheels are clearly suited for the track, so they shouldn't come with some cheap plastic rings. If you're going to pay ~$2k for wheels, it should be provided with metal rings. This situation is totally different from wear and tear on transmission\diff etc. I've heard of these rings melting after 1 track day.

I do agree that these rings are weak, the metal hub rings would be better for our use at track. But don't you think that's an advice that we can recommend to someone. But "Beware Volk buyers" sounds like a fraud by Volk. Which in this case on a hub centric ring they provide is an extrem use of description.

i bet 99% of the customers who buy theses rims dont track, and if they do track, upgrade to what is needed. but having it standard, not business smart for Volk.

then again, i'm just one person

How much do you think it would cost them to add metal rings? Compare that cost to the cost of forging. It's a minor cost.

Even if 99% of the customers don't take it to the track (and I highly doubt that number), they buy it because it is a "track" wheel. Why do you think they forge wheels? To make them strong yet light for track driving. It only helps their brand to make sure the wheels and all related parts can withstand track driving.

Jeff:

If you could send some extra rings to me, I would certainly appreciate this.

Also, is there a better solution you could advise, such as rings suited for these wheels, but made from durable material?

Thanks!
