re050 vs rt615 vs re070
Ok, Ive had Hankook RS2's, KDW's, and REO1R's. Hankooks were undersized since Potenza did the weird sizing so even on the Touge the Hankook would get hot, this is on the street! Automatic crappy tire IMO. I had the KDW's on my celica with full suspension and sways, another buddy in his 240 on buddy clubs and a ton of suspension parts was runnin Azenis (RT615's) about 5 miles into our little touge his tires were so hot he couldn't keep up. Azenis seem to hold heat because of the huge tread blocks. I currently have REO1R's and they have been the best tire so far, I'd love to try the KD's(200 treadwear version) but most people seem to have been dissappointed with the KDW's (300 treadwear) on RWD cars, none of these people autocross or touge though
REO1R seem to be a good lasting tire and extreme grip, I'd like to compare them with RE070's when the opportunity arises.
I did have one experience on RE070's, I was autocrossing my Tc on its shit factory Yokohamas, a friend offered me his rims and 070's he got his hands on from an STI. I knocked off 2 seconds from my lap times, pretty impressive IMO.

Professional can make the toughest thing look so easy, LOL look at the New England Patriot.
But for the rest of us wannabe, spend the money and get the good tires, hell we drive s2k not a beater.

Another thing to consider is how many laps the tires see in the GRM test. I would say that the RT-615 is a good dry grip tire good for a couple laps, and then it begins to become a little squeally. The bridgestone and advan will hold up much better for longer durations. Also if wet traction is an issue, definitely the Neova. The Neova even though more expensive is think about it this way. The only thing that keeps your car in contact with the road is your tires.

I am considering a new tire, but I definitely want one with excellent steering feedback.
Thanks,

look pretty good and are also the most expensive. Don't ask which one handle better, because that gonna start riot. BTW when u read tirerack review, read selectively on the kind of car people own.

Ive run the RT-615's for the last 2 sets of tires on my S2000. I dont see the problem of no steering feel that you guys are talking about. I find them to be decent in the rain although not the best. It's a tire that i'll keep running untill i drive a S2000 with another tire on that i like better.
I've tracked with both RT615 and RE070 (aren't these only in very limited sizes??) with the same car and same size of tires.
The RT615 generated slightly more peak grip, however the temperature operating range is lower than the RE070, they heat up quicker but overheat quicker as well. I was able to stay out longer on the Bridgestones. IMO grip levels are very close between the two, it will take a stopwatch to tell the difference.
The RE070 have slightly stiffer sidewalls, and perform better if you have less than ideal -camber. With an ideal alignment, the azenis are plenty stiff enough and will again provide slightly more grip.
In the wet, I give the vote to the RT615, when I tracked the RE070 in the wet they had a bit less tread than when I did the same with the 615's, but they were fu_in terrible and actually worse on the road when down at the wear bars.
Enjoy.
