Rear tire size...
Presently running 255/40/17,on 9'' Volk CE-28,perfect fit,no rubbing.
Need to replace the rear ones;should I get 275/40/17,or stay with 255???
Don't want any robbing problems.
P.S.:already running UK alingment.

How low are you? I think I've seen pics of your car/drop and your drop doesn't seem to to be too drastic. I ran 255 rears on my Volks and I am pretty low with no rubbing at all.
275 is only 20 mms.wider than 255,right???
So,about .75'' wider ???Do you think it would rub,?wheels are 9'',+63 offset.

i have falken azenis RT615 275/40/17 on my CE28s 17x9 +63 on my rears. fenders will need to be rolled. i am at -2.5 rear camber.
Azenis are wider than other tires in its size..
For example, the RT215 in 225 is wider than AVS ES100 in 225. I compared it a few years ago while changing tires, when both tires are unmounted.

I have 275 Azenis and they are MEAN looking. Rubbing was pretty bad, but I had fenders rolled and alignment done and they should be alright.
These shots are before I had the fenders rolled/alignment:
