Default Rear Tires for AP1 rims

I need a new set of tires for the rears, fronts still have plenty of tread. Currently I have on BF Goodrich g-force sport 205/225. I don't know whether I should stay with that tire or get something different. If I stay with the g-force sport then I'd definately upgrade to 245. I'd like a good/decent tire for wet/dry especially since its been raining a lot down here in SFL. I only need tires that will last until both the fronts and rears are gone at which point I'm gonna buy a whole set of new rims and tires. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would say the best handling is to stay with the same tire on all four corners. Unfortunately nobody makes the 245/45R16 tires anymore so you are going to have to stay with the 225/50R16.
If I can help with the tires let me know.

No, Those tires are going to be taller than the front tires by about 3/4".

This is one of the reasons I was excited to go to a 17" OEM wheel over the original AP1s. Extremely limited on tire options for the 2000-03 models of the S2000.

It seems all the tire companies are going away from the 16" tires.

Still a pretty good selection in OEM AP1 sizes:

Well I ordered the tires last night from tirerack, I'm hoping I receive them by Friday the latest as I'm getting this vibration in the passenger side rear(most worn out). I hope it doesnt create any problems.

Is it necessary to get an alignment done when replacing only the rears?

It's not necessary. It depends on the last time you had the car aligned and whether the wear pattern on the current tires lead you to believe you need it.

But it's never a bad idea if you have it done by folks who know what they're doing.
