Everyone who knows me knows I'm big on replicas...but aesthetic pieces. A replica bumper is the same exact thing, for a lot less money. However, anything which has to have strength will NOT be made the same way. Fake wheels are FTL because of safety, not because they are fake.

 

I don't think replicas are less safe.
It's just that they use cheaper, meaning heavier, materials.
All manufacturers have a standard to meet in order to launch a product.
(not too sure about the ones made in China though)

^ I'm sure their are some quality replicas out there, bu their are DEFINITELY some questionable manufacturing processes. Reverse engineering a design would make me a bit nervous IMHO.
