So where do the chinese made Kazera's fall into? So far, so good with me. Not really replicas though. The mesh desgin has been done by just about everyone, so I don't think they are a replica or knockoff per say, just an "off brand" if you will.

There are so many ways to make a wheel. Who cares. When you buy Volk, Mugen, etc. Your buying the name. Yeah rotas might be heavier/And cheaper made but who cares. They arent going to break on your DD

If you track your car with D2s/Meisters, you an idiot.

If you put a 2,500 set of rims on your daily. Your an idiot.

I will put cheap wheels on my daily setup and get some nice lightweight stronger wheels for track. They will get kicked up by rocks, and ran in all kinds of weather. I dont want to spend 2 hours a day keeping my "Baller" wheels clean. This thread is dumb.

Think of this this way. Ferrari vs Z06.
Ferrari- Higher quality, more expensive parts, more rare- $200,000+
Z06 - Cheaper quality, less expensive parts, very common - $80,000

Both perform the same, so why spend over 2x the price for the ferrari when you could get a Z06 for cheaper?

because its all what you can AFFORD! Not everyone on this forum has 2000+ to blow on rims just for the looks

Based on cheaper metals (not correct alloy for something like a wheel), incorrect/inexpensive processing of the metal, no/low QC standards, etc.

You must understand, I am NOT talking about inexpensive wheels, I am talking about replica wheels, there IS a difference. While not all replica wheels are bad, I sure don't want to be the guy to find out which ones are.

Replica wheels are usually made by "cheap" companies that don't have the money to employ designers, etc etc. Designing a wheel is an expensive process. As a result, these companies become known as the "replica" wheel company. While not all of them are bad, they do have lower quality in basically all aspects of production. Are Volks worth triple the price of Rotas in terms of actual metal and worksmanship? No, they are not. However, it's not like comparing a Rolex to a Timex. Both keep time, so they are both the same. Some wheels are fine, but the first crack in the pavement you hit, they shatter.

Again, I am all for the "cheaper" stuff if it serves no actual purpose, but wheels are a safety item, and in a sports car, I wouldn't want to ride on something that may or may not be of good quality.
ASA makes replica BBS wheels in cooperation with BBS and ASA are TUV and JWL approved...

Sport Edition wheels (most are MB/AMG replica wheels) are manufactured by Kosei in China through low pressure casting process and are manufactured to TUV specs.

Replicas are simply that, replicas of a design. To say that replicas are bad (other than being a ripoff of a design) is silly.

It's all marketing, people are willing to pay more for a brand name since it is essentially that, a name, and don't kid yourself, we are paying a premium for the name.

Oh yeah, I have Volks on my S and had ASA BBS replicas on 2 of my previous Audi's for my winter wheels.

Rota supporters, do you support those China cars that resemble other cars or when you see someone on the street with a Guccini bag do you or do you not go wtf.

Point being is that Rota wouldn't have so much hate if they DESIGNED THEIR OWN FREAKING WHEELS. Sure if they really care about marketing "affordable wheels" why not just do that but not make it look so god damn alike other popular wheels. But it is obvious their main part of marketing is to make copy wheels which is retarded.

If you say that is fine, then again I'm sure you react the same way when you see people wear Faulex watches or fake ass diamond rings. After all they do the same purpose at half the cost right? Please ..

^I rock Rotas. I guess we aren't friends...

I bought my D2s because I loved how they look and they are 1/3rd as much as the SSR or Work versions. They are heavier, but I do not track and I put my extra money into a turbo kit. I am happy and get tons of compliments on my wheels. To each there own, but I am not worried about my wheels breaking from a strong breeze.

Much love to all Volk, Work and Rota guys. I you like them, get them, whatever wheels you choose, damn everyone else!

I've rocked 'em both, Rays and rotas. I had rotas on my teggy, but would never put them on my S.
