The style of rims I like only come in lower offsets.

I want a little bit of stretch on the 255 to match the stretch on a 225 on a 9 inch.

Because 9" is outside the width range for a 225/45-17. I'd run 235/40-17 or 245/40-17 up front on 9". But do what thou wilt...

I agree with running the 245 front and 255 rear.

Isn't this a street car? Why go with 17" wheels? The RPF1 comes in an 18" with the same offsets. The PSS, DW, and S04 should all come in 235/40, 245/35, 255/35, and 265/35 sizes. The S04 and DW would support 285/30 sizes. These combinations are about the same height as stock.

If this isn't a racing setup, then wouldn't the stagger keep the tail in check? 245/35 or 255/35 front with a 285/30 rear would look very extreme.

There is a fairly significant difference in looks, probably wants something more aggressive in the rear. 235/40 front, 245/40 rear is another tire combo that would work, more of borderline hellaflush look but some people like that. It would be a little easier to fit than 245/40, 255/40.

No...we aren't talking about a race car...and the wheels are being chosen for their looks not their fit. For looks, why use a 17": wheel? From what I understand, tuners go has tall as they can on the wheel. For SUVs this ridiculous. Many are running on 22" (even a factory size now) or 24" wheels. I think there also 26" wheels. However, the Ford Raptor comes with 17" wheels. For any off road use (or even potholes) tall side walls are best.
