If in fact the wheels are a 56mm offset I just can't see them rubbing. I have a lot of 18X8 wheels that are around 48 to 53 that don't rub with the 225/40R18. I would check the alignment and the camber you are running.

check alignment first (thats if u havent gotten one in a long time)
