Default Running 5mm spacers with OEM studs/bolts?

I just bought some H and R 5mm spacers and dont want to go through the hassle of replacing the wheel bolts. I was wondering if it would be safe to use the spacers on OEM bolts (or whatever they are called). Keep in mind I am using after market wheels and after market closed ended lug nuts.

I believe Honda stud threads are 1.5mm pitch, so you would be losing just over 3 full turns of engagement. That's more then I would personally be comfortable with.

The stock lug nuts have about 8 threads engaging the studs, if you still get 8 turns of engagement, you are OK.

Rule of thumb dictates that there should be "one diameter of threads engaging the studs. "

For example Honda uses 12mm diameter studs, therefore 12mm of threads should be engaging the studs which equals 8 turns/threads.

Then again "German standard requiring 6.4 threads to be engaged on 1.5mm pitch steel fasteners, for a total of 9.6mm."

I know that I tried going with the Honda studs with the 5mm spacers, but in my particular case I saw some stress on the threads after just scrubbing in some new tires. So, I went ahead and swapped out the studs. Man, that was more expensive than I hoped for, tho.

Good luck!

Here's a thread that confirms why.... that is if you don't do the work yourself, like me.
